On Vacation!

 Although we are still away on our romp through Southern California, I could not but help post the fact we had dinner at Stone Brewing Company last night.  I will have a lot more to post about it upon our return, but needless to say I found it a religious experience.  It was simply amazing.  The beer, the food, the ambiance...I wish I didn't live so far away from it and I hope to return.

I only live an hour away, but have yet to be there. I will, however, be going this Sunday for their Sour Ale Festival. I can't wait. I think Sours are my favorite variety of beer.

I'm glad you enjoyed the trip. I think my visit will be equally religious. Keep up the great blogging and beer making!

I can tell just by the color of your beer that it's not budweiser lime (or whatever crap that was)...good work on the good beer! : )

Thanks for your recent comments on my blog. I've never had Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold. I can't get it where I live, so I'll have to wait until I get back to Cleveland! I have so much trouble taking quality pictures of food when "on the road." Do you have any suggestions?

What Stone Beers did you get to drink? What do you think about 13th Anniversary? We did an interview with Greg Koch of Stone on our blog, he's a great guy!

@Blake - Way cool & thanks! I saw all of the signs for it and I wish I could have gone. Admittedly, sours are something I haven't really dived in to. It sounds like I need to!

@Andrew - Oh, it was...it was!

@Mom2Be - It most definitely wasn't the evil Bud Light Lime...it was a glass full of wonderful Arrogant Bastard.

@Ninette - Dortmunder is by far my favorite Great Lake style. You will have to check it out!

The biggest hurdle for me is ensuring I take (and use!) my 40D. It's size can sometimes prove to be a hassle...that and the looks I get from whomever I'm with. The downside for me is that I use Lightroom2 for all of my post work and I only have that installed on a desktop at home. If I get a good shot out of the camera, I might post it. If not, I just wait till I get home.

@DH - I only had the Smoked Porter and the Bastard. I saw that you had the 13th. I am dying to try it. To partially quote Tina Turner, Stone is simply the best.
