I decided to try a rub in Ted Reader's BBQ Book. After I dumped in the ingredients, I found I made some kind of craft keepsake too. Nice...
Looks like the candle's my kids made in grade school... I never tried dumping the candle insides over meat, though.
It looks as though your second layer may be clastic. I would'nt expect any fruitful vegitation to emerge......
So far I have 1 vote for craft project and 1 vote for a (poor) geological formation. Anyone else?
